The primary funding source for the Corporate Challenge is team entry fees. In our effort to keep these fees as low as possible, sponsorship opportunities are available. A sponsor’s financial commitment goes directly towards offsetting the costs that are not covered by the entry fees. If you are a community-minded company, then becoming a Corporate Challenge sponsor is for you!
You will receive a variety of benefits, including but not limited to naming rights, signage, logo recognition on marketing materials, opportunity to tie in vendors, as well as your team’s entry in the competition.
2016 Akron Corporate Challenge Sponsors
The Akron Racers, the oldest existing women’s professional fastpitch team, is Northeast Ohio’s best kept sports secret. From June through August, historic Firestone Stadium comes alive with 70-mile per hour fastballs, jaw-dropping defensive plays and professional players that provide post game autographs and photos for fans of all ages.
The City of Akron invested $3.5 million dollars to preserve and renovate historic Firestone Stadium to welcome the Racers in 1999.The Racers competed for two seasons prior to the restructuring of the league after the 2000 season. The league under its new moniker, National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) returned to the diamond in 2004. The Racers staged a come-from-behind victory over Jennie Finch and the Chicago Bandits to claim the 2005 NPF title.
Over the past 15 years, the Akron Racers have transformed Firestone Stadium into a destination for numerous state, regional and national amateur events including the 2007 NCAA II National Tournament, the MAC Championships and the OHSAA Girls Softball Tournament. Over 75,000 players, coaches, friends and fans join us each year to cheer on their favorite team.
